MELANCHOLY MEETS CRUELTY

۞

I am a freelance visual artist from Vienna, Austria and

specialized for dark & melancholy Illustrations

My pictures are painted or drawn on
handmade, strong paper or real fabric linen. (no cotton)
I use different techniques, mostly watercolor, acrylic, fineliner, or pencil.
For some artworks I also use gilding with metal leaf.

The figures that emerge from my paintings are gentle, almost vulnerable. Yet behind this tenderness often lies a quiet sadness, a melancholy that doesn't oppress, but rather touches. Despite their heaviness, the works radiate a peculiar warmth—almost as if a glimmer of hope were hidden within their silent darkness.

This cycle of works oscillates between light and shadow,
between peace and oppressive chaos.
The illustrations are permeated with dark ornaments that cling almost
parasitically to their motifs. Beauty here is not a gentle manifestation—it is raw, vulnerable, surrounded by darkness.
These works require no interpretation. They invite you to linger, to feel, to observe.
Beauty and pain, chaos and order, tenderness and depth:
everything is exposed, everything is connected.

Even if the images may seem overwhelming to some viewers, that's not the intention.
These works of art blend elements of Art Nouveau with contemporary abstraction. Wild, uncontrolled ornaments and decorative structures evoke future eras—yet embedded in a formal language that seeks the past,
where peace and nostalgia are sought.
